PURPOSE
1. To promote the use of Amateur Radio for emergency communications and to provide operators the opportunity to improve their Amateur Radio communication skills.
2. To provide a personal Amateur Radio emergency communicator for every decision maker of organizations bringing emergency services to a disaster area.
3. To provide Amateur Radio emergency communicators for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Emergency Response Communications (ERC). MARA is to function as the ER Auxiliary, to make available Amateur Radio personnel for Welfare Service Center net control operators and personnel for all Region/Stake/Ward Communication Specialist positions.
4. Other candidate recipient organizations that may use MARA emergency communications are those organizations that are not served by RACES or ARES, bringing emergency services to a disaster area, or other organizations requesting emergency communications.
5. To provide Amateur Radio Emergency Net protocol training for emergency communicators by conducting regular Amateur Radio training nets.
6. To provide Amateur Radio license training for candidate new Amateur Radio license holders and for Amateur Radio operators desiring to upgrade their licenses.
